The Alliance Française born in 1883 is the first French-language school and the first cultural NGO in the world. Based on the associative and local law model, Alliance Française brings together all those who wish to discover the knowledge and taste of the French language and, wherever they are concerned, promote dialogue and intercultural exchange. Led by 15,000 collabirators and 6,300 volunteer administrators, they bring together nearly 500,000 students and nearly 3.5 million participants each year at the 26,000 events organized on the five continents. The values of the French Alliance are in many ways exemplary today: emancipation through knowledge, openness through dialogue and recognition of the diversity of cultures and languages, foremost among which is the French language. Each Alliance is run locally as an independent, non-profit organization, in an environment outside of any political or political concern. Its vocation is to organize general language and specialties courses as well as cultural and cooperation activities throughout the world. It ensures the coherence and unity of ideals and objectives of the movement, while respecting local cultures
